Rajendra KC

Rajendra KC is an award-winning artist and popular Falls Church Arts instructor. Skilled in painting in various media and across a range of subject matter, he is adept at helping students improve their technique across multiple styles of painting. His students frequently register for additional sessions to continue to advance. His teaching style allows him to work with students of varying capabilities within the same class.

Madan Chitrakar, author of the book Nepali Art: Thoughts and Musings, wrote, “Rajendra’s ability to capture the mood and the environment of a given spot has remained his main forte. He is one of the very few in today’s generation of landscapists who is so adept in its treatment and fully aware of the transparent quality of the [watercolor] medium.”

Rajendra was born in Nepal and educated at Sirjana Contemporary Art Gallery in Kathmandu. Since 1996, his paintings have been exhibited widely in Nepal, Japan, and India. His art hangs in collections in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Germany, and India. Rajendra has received numerous special awards for his artwork in Nepal and in the United States, where he has lived since 2007. He is a winner of various Falls Church Plein Air Festival prizes, including best in show, people’s choice award, and artists’ choice award, as well as a frequent winner in many plein air festival competitions on the East Coast.
