Instructor: Melanie Kehoss
Learn the basics of knife papercutting and design, with an emphasis on positive and negative space. Students will create one or more Valentine’s cards or (if Valentine’s isn’t your thing) Victorian-inspired artwork. Supplies will be provided, but students are welcome to bring colorful paper for more choices.
*The workshop is designed for adults. Children ages 16-17 may participate with parental permission. Children ages 12-15 may participate only with a co-participating adult guardian.
Melanie Kehoss has been a papercutter for nearly 20 years and is an active member of the Guild of American Papercutters. She teaches art at Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington and US Arts Center and holds an MFA from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
