By the end of the class, students will have a basic to intermediate understanding of how to approach drawing, how to shade, and have a brief introduction to color and paint. Your instructor will provide brief PowerPoints full of drawing aids and examples for each day. Students will not be required to review them, but they will be available for those who like read ahead or will want to review.

Supplies not included. List of required supplies and suggested sources will be provided upon registration. Instructor estimates cost of supplies to be about $68.

Sierra Sigmone is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she received dual degrees in Studio Art and Architecture as well as dual minors in Real Estate Development and Sustainability Studies. She is a local artist who is the proud owner of Sierra’s Creations, LLC, an art-based business that focuses on murals and art commissions to better the world through art.
Her previous experience with teaching and art includes instructing after-school art programs with AmeriCorps LAYC/MMYC, creating and instructing S.T.E.A.M. programs for MNCPPC, assisting with the execution of the Lakeland Community Mural; designing and executing two murals at K. Neal Truck and Bus Center; executing the footprint mural at Mt. Rainier Elementary School, being one of four students to assist with the execution of a mural at the University of Maryland that is dedicated to the late David C. Driskell, and most recently, creating a mural at Mt. Rainier Elementary School of their logo.
