Do you feel like your art is all over the map, and you want to develop a cohesive body of work? This class is intended to facilitate the discovery and examination of themes in each participant’s internal life and environment, that can later be used in their art making. Participants will work on projects that help them in developing art that is an authentic and relevant expression of themselves. The class is designed as a community of sharing, in which participants contribute through discussion and guided exercises that draw on theories of creativity and the creative process. In each of the five sessions participants will examine and discuss the work of contemporary artists, and discover their own themes through different exercises, such as the creation of word boards, mandalas, accordion books, and mixed media on paper.
