Copying a master’s painting can help you learn their techniques, such as their color mixtures, value, processes, and composition. Working from an image of your favorite artist’s artwork, you will use the grid method to transfer the image to canvas or paper. The instructor will take you through the steps of creating an original copy of the work in your medium of choice. (Students bring supplies.)
Oyunaa Waskin
Oyunaa Waskin is a self-taught artist, so she understands students’ struggles. She enjoys sharing her knowledge of various techniques and mediums with them. In addition to teaching at Falls Church Arts, Oyunaa Waskin works and teaches from her home studio in Fairfax, VA. She has received several awards from both international and national competitions, including recognition at the 2024 Falls Church Arts “Scenes in the City” Plein Air Festival.
