In five classes, award-winning abstract painter Bryan Jernigan will share the secrets he knows about creating abstract paintings that move you. Simplification is the key, but also attention to the formal elements of painting – composition, value, color, line work, the loud and quiet conversations. Join him to better understand the principles so you can create stronger work.

*The instructor encourages acrylics, but oils are acceptable as long as students have prior experience with them.

Bryan Jernigan

Bryan Jernigan is an award-winning abstract painter and instructor. He has been teaching abstraction for more than 15 years. His works are held in public and private collections around the world in countries as diverse as France, Japan, India, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. He recently completed five oversized works for the Muse in Old Town Alexandria overlooking the Potomac River.
