Photographers were invited to explore how visual or tactile surface characteristics of objects or scenes can be enhanced or downplayed through the manipulation of light and angle. Because texture may either be real or implied, participants were also invited to take a broader look at the topic and to submit entries that convey texture through the basic or overall structure of an image.
