Sunset at the Old Bazaar
Old bazaars in Eastern countries such as my native Iran have long been a significant part of a country’s cultural heritage. Besides serving economic and social purposes, Iranian bazaars are tourist attractions and repositories of Iranian artistry, showcasing alluring architectural designs. Consequently, I have always been interested in drawing and painting these bazaars. A particular source of inspiration was the golden rays of the setting sun piercing through the slits in the ceiling of Tehran’s historic bazaar, bathing its passageways with warmth on a crisp autumn day, which led me to produce this artwork.
