Mixed Media Playtime (for Grownups) – April-May 2023

Instructor: Molly McCracken

Tuesdays | April 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 2023 | 9:00-11:00 am | $250 | Falls Church Arts Gallery
If you have ever felt stuck, unsure what to make, or afraid to do something “wrong” in your art, this is the class for you. Have fun playing with a variety of mixed media techniques over eight weeks. Explore through process-oriented projects that allow you to combine different materials in unusual and creatively liberating ways. Come with an open mind and a willingness to try something new.
Students must have completed vaccination for Covid-19. Falls Church Arts follows the current guidelines for masking, which are updated as needed.

The very bare minimum supplies for doing mixed media work include a substrate (what you are working on), adhesive (glue), scissors, colorful papers for collaging, and some kind of mark making implement such as a pencil.  For more specifics of things to use and what to look for around your house for this class, click here

Molly McCracken
Molly F. McCracken is a collage and mixed-media artist working in Arlington, Virginia. She takes a playful, process-driven approach to her work, even when the subject matter is sometimes heavy. Molly’s intent is to bring emotions, personal history and women’s issues, among many other issues, to light in a beautiful and often humorous way using shape, line and color. Molly also teaches a wide variety of classes for all ages, which inform and inspire her own practice through conversations and connections made. Inspiration is all around, in passing clouds and rocks on the beach, in people and places, in present feelings and warm nostalgia.
