This class will be an afternoon of colorful fun as you learn calligraphy
letterforms with brush markers and watercolors! No experience is
required and all materials will be provided. You will be able to take
all your materials home with you to continue your practice! This class
is also perfect for students who have prior calligraphy experience but
would like to learn how to use a different medium for their lettering.

I live and work as a calligrapher in the Washington, DC area with my husband, Jason, and hedgehog, Hoodie. I specifically remember starting my quest for admirable handwriting in the fourth grade after admiring the letter “a” of a classmate’s. True story.
My calligraphy career began while attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I was frequently asked to address engaged friends’ wedding invitations. After graduation, I moved to Washington, DC, to enroll in The George Washington University’s Event Management Program. While I studied event planning, I thought surely there have to be classes here where I can learn “real” calligraphy. I still take and teach as many classes as I possibly can and am a member of the Washington Calligraphers Guild and the International Association of Master Penman, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting.
