Paul Meade
Paul Meade is an 18 year old photographer whose work explores the nature of light and its relationship to the world around us. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, and adopted at a young age, Paul grew up in Falls Church, where his fascination with light and its traces began. His practice is driven by a deep curiosity about how nature interacts with itself and how light reveals hidden beauty in the world.Drawing inspiration from social media, fellow artists, and award-winning imagery, Paul invites viewers to experience the raw beauty of nature and the act of seeing itself. His work challenges the viewer to engage with the intimate, often unseen details of the world around them. With a focus on continuous learning, each photograph evolves as a response to emotion, concept, material, or experience. Paul works with a Canon R10 and a variety of lenses, including the 70-200mm, 50mm, and 16mm, blending patience with a sharp eye for detail. His photographs encourage an ongoing dialogue between the art and the viewer. He is currently mentoring under Juan Carlos and Brad Mills to learn about the professional photography scene and how he can enter it.After six years of self-teaching from the age of 12, Paul will continue his artistic journey at Appalachian State University. Although he has yet to exhibit in solo or group shows, he remains dedicated to his passion, eager to learn, and focused on pursuing a career in photography.
