My art pieces develop from my energy sources in the moment, my past and present adventures and the life of being an “expressive.” I consider this artist period in my life Act 5, referring to numerous career periods before this. As a meeting facilitator (one of my previous “Act” periods), I often asked my clients to answer this question, “What if….” and then the group would brainstorm “what if” scenarios as part of their session. As an artist, I practice “what ifs” all the time, whether mixing colors, changing the surface direction or applying different tools to see what effects I can generate from their application. I never consider my time in the studio “work.” When I practice art, I am playing, and I become totally absorbed with what that day brings. Early on in my artist practice, I recognized I needed discipline by learning and respecting the rules of patience, color application, composition values and more. I love it when I paint and something I do surprises and pleases me. My evolving paintings have developed from subjects like weather and the elements or feelings that they may generate. Subjects with water, sunrises, sunsets, snow, wind, spirit moving often come to mind. I have often used loving thoughts from memories of people or places to generate positive energy and emotions in my paintings. Instagram: Cynthiaphotos&art
