Cris Coloni

I create colorful, intuitive artwork that lives somewhere between joy, memory, and imagination.Born in São Paulo, Brazil, and now based in Northern Virginia, I work across painting, pattern design, and mixed media. My process is spontaneous rather than planned. I rarely begin with a clear message. Instead, I follow color, shape, texture, and instinct, allowing images to emerge naturally. My work often blends playful elements with deeper emotional undercurrents. Organic forms, strange characters, and layered symbolism appear throughout my pieces, creating visual worlds that feel both whimsical and puzzling. I am interested in the tension between beauty and discomfort, order and chaos, humor and vulnerability.Art, for me, is an act of exploration. Each piece becomes a record of curiosity, attention, and transformation. Whether I am creating a painting, a pattern, or a decorative design, my goal is to make work that sparks connection, invites interpretation, and reminds us that life is often stranger, richer, and more colorful than we expect.
