Our world is full of things, right in front of our eyes, that we do not or cannot see, sometimes small, sometimes unbelievably large. Blossoms of flowers blend into impressionistic bunches of color, but the individual blossoms, often less than half an inch long, are lost. Throughout the year we are surrounded by these beautiful individual blossoms, but they are invisible to us unless we make a special effort to look closely. My macro photographs explore these unseen beauties, and are made by freezing clusters of blossoms in a small block of ice and lighting the frozen blossoms to emphasize their color and the texture of the ice.
