NL (Nancy L) Walsh is an artist specializing in photography-based digital art & fine art photography. She grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. She graduated from Notre Dame (Go Irish!), where she took her first photography classes. She went on to the University of Virginia Law School, practiced law in Washington, DC, then became a mom, throughout which time her photography and art have been a constant. She also performed with improv comedy troupes for over a decade, which infuses her point of view with humor and whimsy. Her work is ever-evolving, with new technologies in photo editing and digital art that allow her to continually expand and refine her artistic style. Her images have received numerous awards and appeared in many gallery exhibits, publications and art shows, and hang in private collections throughout the U.S. and internationally.”I make my art to capture moments, emotions or glimpses worthy of remembering. I call my genre mixed media photography-based digital art. I photograph anything that resonates with and inspires me. My digital photos are the starting point. Often a photo represents just the seed of an idea or the outlines of a composition. My process to transform a photo into my vision for a finished piece includes using photo editing & digital art technology to modify & transform, plus collage, printmaking techniques, combining photographs, & drawing by hand.
